World's Finest Chocolate
The World’s Finest Chocolate Sale ends Tuesday, January 31. All money is due by that date.
Re-registration
Re-registration materials for the 2012 – 2013 academic year will be sent home shortly and are due by early February.  Please plan accordingly.
Report Card
The end of the second marking period for Pre-K 3 – Grade 8 is Monday, January 30. Report cards will be distributed the week of February 13.

  • Yearbook Order
    Urgent: Order your 2011 – 2012 St. Joseph’s School – Yorkville Yearbook now: We have not reached the minimum number of yearbooks required to have a yearbook. One hundred more orders are necessary. Additional order forms/envelopes are in the office. Please complete and return the form with the $25 payment by the January 31 deadline.  The full-color book will include group photos of all classes, Pre-K 3 through Grade 8, plus a candid page for each class. Also, there will be pages for events, activities, after-school clubs and much more. The yearbook is a great keepsake for years to come.
  • After School Enrichment
    The After-School Enrichment Program for Pre-K 3 through Grade 8 will begin next week and end the week of April 30. The information packet and registration form were sent home last week. The forms were due yesterday. If space is available, forms will be accepted through Friday. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. A minimum of 10 children is required for an activity to be offered.
  • St. Jude’s Ranch for Children
    St. Jude’s Ranch for Children: St. Joseph’s School – Yorkville is collecting used cards (general Christmas cards, religious Christmas cards, Easter cards, birthday cards, thank you cards, and all occasion general greeting cards) in support of St. Jude’s Ranch Recycling Program. If you have cards to donate, please place them in the box located in main hallway by Tuesday, January 31. Thank you for your support.
  • International Day
    The students will celebrate the multicultural diversity of our school on Wednesday, February 1. Each grade has chosen a country to represent. The students will travel, using their passports, and visit classrooms to learn important facts about the culture of different countries. Activities may include music from that country, geography, government, food, and an arts and crafts activity.
  • Catholic Schools Week

    Valentine Auction Items: We would like to remind you that we are still accepting and collecting items for this year's auction. Tickets, travel packages, dinners, fashion items, spa days, items big and small...if you or someone you know is able to donate, please let us know. Thank you to all who have donated so far; we sincerely appreciate it.
  • Leap
    Grades 4-8 are participating in the Archdiocesan program Project LEAP (Life Enhancement Awareness Program). These grades will receive a seven- to ten-week course which has been researched and found to be effective in helping students learn alternatives to bullying and aggressive behaviors.   Read more...
  • St. Joseph’s School – Yorkville Yearbook Boosters
    If you would like to tell your child a special message, congratulate a graduate, or thank a teacher(s), place an ad in our yearbook. The Yearbook Family Booster/Ad Form was sent home last week. Additional forms are available in the office. The deadline is Friday, February 17.
     
  • School Tours
    School tours for prospective families for the 2012-2013 academic year are scheduled for Tuesday, January 10; Thursday, January 19; Wednesday, February 8; and Wednesday, February 29.  All tours begin at 9:00 AM. Please inform the office if you would like a sibling to join us here next year. The admission process is first come, first served. Please call the school office 212-289-3057 to schedule a tour date.
  • Fundraiser Contribution
    Required Fundraising Contribution: The Required Fundraising Contribution is due by February 15. Please review the letter sent to you in December and advise Ms. Kyra and/or Mrs. Sestak of any discrepancies. Thank you.
     
  • Valentine’s Dinner Dance and Auction
    By now you should have received a flyer/invitation with ticket information for the February 11th Valentine's Dinner/Auction. We sincerely hope you will join us for this special evening; it is an important fundraiser for the school, but it's also a lovely social celebration, a time to get to know other St. Joseph’s families and friends, and a lot of fun.
     
  • Valentine Dinner and Auction Online Auction
    Valentine Dinner and Auction: This year we will again be posting an online auction featuring select items before the event, and we would love your help spreading the word. In the next few weeks we'll be sending a link to the auction website (with listings for the class projects, favorite items from the full auction, raffle tickets, and more!). Allowing online bidding for these items means you can send the link to family and friends near and far, and even those who aren’t able to attend in person can participate, bid, and help make this our most successful auction so far!
